SmarTravel made someone $50,000 richer this past weekend! We would like to congratulate Migdalia Sanchez from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on becoming our 2014 Grand Prize winner of $50,000! Migdalia plans on paying down some debts, helping out her family and maybe taking her and her family on a nice little vacation! Congrats to Migdalia and her family!
SmarTravel, a Corporate Sponsor of the Murat Shrine Circus held in Indianapolis at the Indiana State Fairgrounds each year donated 30 tickets to The Villages of Indianapolis, a not-for-profit child and family services agency.
“Typically, when we become Corporate Sponsor for certain events, we will be provided tickets that we can use at own leisure. Donating most of them to The Villages was a no brainer. We wanted kids and families to enjoy one of the best childhood memories you could have, going to the circus. Murat Shrine Circus of Indianapolis has been a great event to get a lot of kids involved and active. They love performing for them.” Laura Mann, Senior Marketing Manager explained. “I wish I could be there to see the kid’s faces when they go.”

Our company had a lot going on in 2013! Let’s take a moment to go back through everything we accomplished this past year:
Back in March 2013, our Indianapolis location got to meet the winners of the 2012 Grand Prize Drawing of $50,000 cash or a brand new car valued up to $70,000 MSRP. It was a great experience for our team because they got to see how happy they made Cheryl & Jim Morgan from Anderson, IN when they received their check for $50,000 and they got to see where their hard work goes to. We loved meeting them and both of them made some special appearances at some of our events throughout the year to encourage people to enter to win!
Our Facebook “likes” has grown a substantial amount in 2013. We gained a lot of momentum and we see new “likes” every day. Our marketing team also posted all the winners of each of our giveaways on Facebook and other forms of social media to get the word out there that we give away some great prizes to some great people throughout the year!
This past year, one of our sales employees, won enough “v-points” to be qualified to take a trip with spending money to a place of her choice! “V-points” is an incentive program for our sales team that boosts them to do better by sending them on trips and vacations.
Our philanthropy team sponsored in many charitable events throughout the year, MuttStrut, Red Kettle Cookout, Harvest Fest, Bark for Life, Lions Club, Tippecanoe Arts Federation and more! Let’s keep it going for 2014!
Finally, to end our year, we had our annual Holiday Party. The party was held at Buca Di Beppo in Indianapolis, and consisted of dinner and an awards ceremony. The ceremony is for our Sales and Marketing Departments to recognize our employees. We had many awards to give out this past year and all of our employees had a great time coming together for the night. Congrats to all of our employees who were recognized with an award!
This year was another great year for our Indianapolis location! We had many events that took place throughout the year with some great partnerships that we continue to have for 2014. To everyone, thank you very much for a great 2013! We look forward to what 2014 has in store for us!
Our SmarTravel team will be gathering up their gently used goods that they no longer need to give to those who are in need. November 7th, 2013, SmarTravel employees will be partipating in Goodwill’s “Stuff the Truck” event located at The Keystone at the Crossing office buildings behind the Fashion Mall in Indianapolis.
Goodwill will be accepting all different kinds of household goods, electronics, clothing, and other gently used items to help those for this upcoming holiday season. “This is another great event to be a part of because there are a lot of us who have items that we don’t need any more that other people can have and put to good use.” Laura Mann, Senior Marketing Manager said.

These next few months SmarTravel will be partnering up with The Salvation Army of Indiana to help “take a bite out of hunger” and will be encouraging others along with their employees to collect non-perishable food items for The Salvation Army’s upcoming Hunger Fest, October 3, 2013 at Monument Circle in downtown, Indianapolis.
“This is another great opportunity for us to help contribute to the community and work with The Salvation Army again! They are such a great organization to work with!” Laura Mann, Senior Marketing Manager of SmarTravel said. This will be SmarTravel’s 3rd year participating in Hunger Fest, aka Apple Fest, the previous years.
Currently, SmarTravel has a collection bin in their office encouraging all employees and individuals to help donate and collect. Their goal is to fill a car full of non-perishable food items and to display the car on Monument Circle October 3rd.
